Biography
I am Manohar B, an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, a research scholar, a resident engineer, and a practicing civil engineer. My career bridges the academic and professional worlds, allowing me to contribute meaningfully to both the advancement of engineering knowledge and the delivery of real-world infrastructure solutions. In my academic role, I am deeply committed to teaching and mentoring the next generation of civil engineers. I focus on delivering structured, engaging, and application-orientated instruction, emphasizing clarity, technical rigor, and sustainability. My research interests include sustainable construction materials, Building Information Modelling, life cycle assessment, and advanced characterization techniques such as SEM imaging, XRD, and spectroscopy. These tools help me explore the microstructural behavior of materials and develop environmentally responsible engineering practices. As a research scholar, I actively pursue interdisciplinary studies that integrate materials science with civil engineering. I believe that sustainability should be embedded in every phase of civil engineering—from design and material selection to construction and long-term performance. In parallel, I serve as a resident engineer and practicing professional, overseeing construction projects and ensuring that engineering principles are applied with precision and integrity. This hands-on experience enriches my teaching and research, grounding theoretical concepts in practical realities. As a part of the consultancy cell of our department, I designed several government and semi-government buildings and structures in our district. My professional journey is driven by a passion for innovation, a commitment to sustainability, and a belief in the transformative power of engineering. I continue to engage in scholarly publications, technical collaborations, and fieldwork that contribute to both academic excellence and societal progress.
